Abhimanyu and the Chakravyuh
अभिमन्यु
Abhimanyu was the brave son of Arjuna and Subhadra. While still in his mother's womb, he had heard Arjuna describe how to enter the Chakravyuh, a complex spinning military formation. However, Subhadra fell asleep before Arjuna could explain how to exit it, so Abhimanyu never learned that crucial part. On the thirteenth day of the Mahabharata war, the Kauravas formed the deadly Chakravyuh. It was a rotating battle formation nearly impossible to penetrate. Arjuna was engaged in combat at the far end of the battlefield. Only sixteen-year-old Abhimanyu knew how to enter the formation. Without hesitation, the young warrior charged in fearlessly. Abhimanyu single-handedly defeated several great Kaurava warriors inside the formation. But Jayadratha blocked the Pandava army from following him in. Abhimanyu was trapped alone. Six mighty Kaurava warriors broke the rules of fair combat and attacked the lone boy together. Abhimanyu fought with extraordinary valor until his very last breath but was ultimately overwhelmed and fell. His courage in the face of impossible odds remains unmatched to this day.
