The Farmer and the Snake

लोककथा

On a cold winter morning, a kind farmer was walking to his field. On the path, he found a snake lying stiff and frozen from the cold. The snake was so cold it could not even move. The farmer felt sorry for it. The farmer picked up the snake and held it against his warm chest to give it heat. Slowly, the snake began to revive from the farmer's warmth. Life returned to its body. But the moment the snake fully regained consciousness, it bit the farmer. The farmer cried out in pain and threw the snake down. He asked the snake why it had bitten the very person who saved its life. The snake replied that the farmer knew it was a snake, and biting is simply its nature. The farmer realized his mistake — he had blindly trusted a dangerous creature without thinking. Fortunately, the villagers treated the farmer in time and saved him.
