Krishna and Putana
कृष्ण
When Krishna was born, the tyrant king Kamsa was terrified by the prophecy that Devaki's eighth son would destroy him. Kamsa sent a demoness named Putana to kill all newborn babies in Gokul. Putana disguised herself as a beautiful woman and arrived in Gokul. She had smeared deadly poison on her chest. She went to Yashoda's house and offered to nurse the lovely baby. Innocent Yashoda handed little Krishna to Putana. Putana began to feed Krishna, but the divine baby sucked with such tremendous force that he drained her very life out of her. Putana screamed in agony and her true horrifying demonic form was revealed. She crashed to the ground and died, her enormous body crushing several trees as it fell. Little Krishna was found playing happily on top of her body. The villagers rushed to pick him up, amazed that such a tiny baby had defeated such a powerful demoness.
