The Thirsty Crow

पंचतंत्र

It was a hot summer day. A crow was terribly thirsty and flew around searching for water. The rivers had dried up and the ponds were empty. Exhausted, the crow sat on a tree. Then he spotted a pot nearby. The crow flew to the pot excitedly. But the water inside was very low and the pot was deep. His beak could not reach the water. He tried to tip the pot over, but it was far too heavy. The crow felt hopeless. Then a clever idea struck him. He picked up small pebbles lying nearby and began dropping them into the pot one by one. With each pebble, the water rose a little higher. The crow kept adding pebbles patiently. Slowly, the water level rose high enough for his beak to reach it. The crow happily drank the water and quenched his thirst. His cleverness and patience had saved his life.

Moral
