Katha
A king and queen lived a very prosperous life. The queen observed Dasha Mata\'s vrat every year and wore the sacred thread (dasha ka dora) around her neck. One day the king asked about the thread. The queen explained it was Dasha Mata\'s thread that brought prosperity. The king arrogantly declared that their wealth came from his own fortune, not from any thread. In anger, the king had the thread broken and thrown away. Dasha Mata was displeased. Gradually, the king lost everything. His kingdom was seized, his wealth vanished, and the couple was left wandering in the forest. The queen was deeply sorrowful but never lost her faith in Dasha Mata. One day in the forest, the queen found a Dasha Mata thread lying on cow dung. She picked it up, washed it, and tied it around her neck with devotion. From that very day, their fortunes began to change. The king regained his lost kingdom, wealth returned, and peace was restored. The king acknowledged his mistake and from then on, both observed Dasha Mata\'s vrat with complete faith every year.
